I was reading the tidewater review to day. New Kent is not going with York and James city ECT. They are going with a stand alone system with Harris . For more information checkout www. Tidewater review.com hope this helps

Thanks for the link! Is that what kind of radio system it will be that sucks. I think no scanner will pick up that type of system? Is that the type Spotsylvania going to?

If they are going with Harris/Ma-Comm.....you don't think Harris would try to hook them up with a broken-sky system??

Depending on what type system or radios harris does have all band, p25 phase 1 and 2 plus conv rolled into one radio and not sure of other features. Seems most who go harris now are going phase 2 trunking.

I highly doubt they will go TBRO,DMR, or NexEdge. They'll probably go P25 phase 1, but will be phase 2 capable.

I'd bet a paycheck it will be P25, as the sheriff and fire chief are strong proponents of maintaining interoperability with their regional partners.

I doubt Harris will sell Opensky to a public saftey orginization ever again. Also, It only Harris now.
