Bcd436 external power

I recently purchased the 436 and use it in the car quite often. I know it can be powered by the USB port without batteries in it, my question is if the power is disconnected by turning off the ignition prior to powering the radio down from on/ off switch will it damage or corrupt the memory card?

Not out of the realm of possibility, IIRC when the x36HP's are turned off, they may write or save to the SD card after they appear to be off. Just pulling the power rug out from under them can cause corruption.

That is what I am afraid of. It does say saving to ad card when powered down. Thanks
