Is it possible to use your existing outdoor HDTV Antenna with your Home Patrol?
YES IT IS...

With special thanks to the AMAZING folks at MPD Digital and their SMA to F Connector Cable, I was able to hook up my Winegard HD 7084P High Defintion VHF/UHF/FM TV Antenna (HD7084P) directly to my HomePatrol 2.

Before I hooked this up Monday thru Thursday was very boring on the scanner. NOW I can scan up to 30 miles and get CRYSTAL clear reception (I get a hit about every 10-15 seconds) SO much to listen to and the quality is incredible.

Again all thanks to MPD Digital

You'll find it will perform even better if you position it so its vertically polarized to match the polarity incoming traffic ;)

Well, it is certainly unusual, as F is 75 ohms and SMA is 50 ohms. You usually don't find mismatched connectors on cables. BNCs are sort of an exception, as they are made in both 50 ohm and 75 ohm variants.
