The U.S. Commerce Department on Friday suspended funding for an increasingly problem-plagued Los Angeles County emergency communications system, noting the project is “severely behind schedule.”

That same thing nearly wrecked the Riverside County PSEC project. But, they were fortunate enough to hammer out the tower locations, NEPA and Environmental Red Tape first.

I thought this was the system that was delayed by unions getting in the way about rf exposure ?

Same system, different issue. It looks like the grants are on hold because of other delays.

PSEC had some really sharp consultants working on site acquisition, and a competent real property manager on county staff. I seriously doubt the project would have completed without their expertise.
