Tri City Automatic Aid

Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake will be implementing Auto Aid on Monday May 4th. Each city now has the other cities dispatch channels on their consoles. If a structure fire, and structure fire only comes in near a city line, the originating city will request an engine from the neighboring city. If they have an engine within a 5 minute response to that fire call, they will dispatch an engine as well. Shoud be interesting. Norfolk station 8 and Chesapeake station 1 will probably catch a few runs in their neighboring city.

Honestly, it should be implemented throughout Hampton Roads, especially Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk.

Very doubtful you will see it done between Norfolk/Portsmouth and Norfolk/Hampton because of the tunnels.
