Portland Fire

Im visiting from Northern Washington, and have both the new 700mhz p25 and the 800mhz type II smartzone programmed into my 436HP. I cannot hear what channels Portland fire is on. I can hear Portland PD just fine, but not fire.

Can anyone tell me what channel Fire is on? Or do they have minimal radio traffic?

Portland Fire & Rescue uses the Multnomah County Fire Talkgroups on 800MHz.

For the 800MHz analog system, make sure that you only scan the simulcast backbone (site #1). The other sites are unnecessary as all the talkgroups are affiliated with the simulcast anyway and the simulcast covers the entire county. The other sites are just fill sites for enhanced coverage.
