Toronto Fire?

With the new system I still hear the old analog system patch. It seems some apparatus have the new digital radios installed and others have the old analog ones still.

When will fire switch over the new digital system fully?

And, will the old analog system be deactivated?

I maybe wrong but I thought they all had digital radios, they were just running in analog for now

Talk was the old system would remain in place for one year as a back-up... however that does NOT mean that the talkgroups will be running on the old analog system..

It seems like once a talkgroups switches over they are OFF the analog system totally and only on the digital system

Fire and EMS have said they will remain unencrypted (for now)...

Do Toronto Fire units have access to encrypted TPS talk groups?

No, don't believe so. From the info thats been available so far, the TFS radios aren't provisioned for encryption.
