in the 2008 race, all of the car frequencies were in the 460-464 range., I'm sure if you do a search in that range, you will locate many.

Carb Day craziness so far on IDPS S1-T13 T14 for traffic control. 30th and 16th are jammed and nutso. Due to that new traffic pattern due to new roundabout, as well as Lafayette being closed from 30th - 34th for bridge repair etc.... Which forces twice as much traffic onto Georgetown. Be wearing your patience hats guys, or don't go.

Indy 500 - 2015 driver scanner frequencies

Mark, here you go! I posted this on another thread here this morning, but I wanted to make sure you get it!

Go to The Official Site of IndyCar News, Drivers, Schedule & Shop | IndyCar.com and click on "download weekend stats and info" on the right side of the page. Click on "Spotters Guide" and the frequencies will be listed with each driver. I haven't been able to find the radio broadcast frequency yet, but It's probably the same as in years past. A post from last year shows the radio broadcast frequency at 454.0000. Here's a link to the list from last year.

I have never heard ARC at the 500. As far as I know they run on cellular phones at the track and the only ones in Safety using radios are the IMS staff, volunteers, and of course IMPD, IFEMS, SPD, SFD, ISP. Feds on their P25 stuff and a lot of the time they run encrypted.

Been to 5 Indy's in my day. The first one I went to I couldn't believe it. Every person has to go to this EVENT at least the night before to experience that atmosphere even if you're not a race fan. :0)
Got 6 tickets in the Terrace Extension one year right in front of A.J. Foyt's Pit. Mario Andretti was leading the race that year, everyone was going nuts thinking THIS could be it finally! after the win in 1969....POP!! right in front of us...his engine blew with like 20 laps left. The whole state of Indiana groaned all at once. Was there the year 86-87? Tony Bettenhausen tire came off in the third turn and Roberto Guerrero's nose cone hit it, launched it into the crowd and killed some poor guy. We didn't hear about it till after the race on the long trek home.

We are all worried this year. With those new changes causing the cars to all go airborne on turn 1..... They dropped speeds to mandatory under 212 period. And are still working on an solution as far as I know. They were even running at 10:30 PM last night. Not sure if this was to get that new guy broke in, or unbreak the cars... LOL! And you have not been alive until at least one Coke Lot run..... But be sure your over 18 at least as that is NOT family friendly environs! Both for the 500 and the Brickyard!

Huh? Every car in the field qualified faster than 222 MPH.

Not sure if this was to get that new guy broke in...

New guy? You mean Ryan Briscoe? The guy with 9 previous Indianapolis 500 starts and one win? Every other driver in the field had plenty of time to practice and qualify.

I don't know who it was but he was to replace the guy that got injured. And still trying to figure out why they had cars running at 10:30 PM. As far as I know that would be disadvantageous since the track temps would have dropped down again.

I'm at home about 6 miles north east of the track and my 780XLT fed with Jefatech 400 and a real VHF StationMaster up about 30 feet getting *I think* JR Hildebrands turn 4 spotter on 467.7125.

Almost all public safety was on IDPS S1 Tacs. 1 was overall command again, and interop between ISP and IMDP/SPD, 2 & 3 were IFEMS Command/Admin, 4 & 5 were EMS tactical/ops, 6-9 were IMPD/SPD law ops, 10 & 11 were Fire Special Ops, 12-15 were traffic control. Got very busy Saturday thru today on all of them.
