What does the "deprecated" tag mean on the Edisto Beach Palmetto 800 talkgroups? Also, is there a repeater on Edisto since the nearest tower seems to be in Ravenel?

"Deprecated" means that those talkgroups are no longer in regular use by that agency.

Edisto Island public safety agencies use talkgroups on the Palmetto P25 system, instead of the Palmetto 800 system like the rest of Colleton County. I have just listed these talkgroups to the Palmetto P25 page. There is a tower site for Palmetto P25 located on Edisto Island for coverage. Other listeners have reported very poor Palmetto 800 coverage at Edisto.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Brian. Slightly off the South Carolina topic, but do you know offhand if the PSR 500 can scan, receive Palemetto 800 and Palmetto 25 at the same time?

Indeed it can. Create two different TSYS objects - one for Palmetto 800 (Mot 800/900 type) and one for Palmetto P25 (P25 Auto type.

You can add the talkgroups from each of these systems to the same scanlist.
