Somebody near Lawrence is running DMR on 460.275. I didn't have DSD setup to try to decode it. The database says KS security but I thought they were on KSICS and 460.275 license doesn't show a DMR emission.

The only legit licenses I see in 150 mile radius of Lawrence are:

Kansas State (Lawrence) KTH420 NFM
Powawatommie Co (Westmoreland Co) NFM

* Sedgwick Co WQKQ287 licensed for TRBO on 460.275
Distance from Lawrence to Wichita about 140 miles.

Don't know how propagation has been in Kansas, but here in the
east, we have had some huge tropo ducting over the past several
weeks and signals from 100-300 miles have been rolling in on UHF

I'm sorry but I have it on the highest authority that skip don't happen on UHF!

It's been pretty good in the dawn & dusk (not quite as good as dawn) lately...

Sorry Joe

But UHF does "Skip" or Duct over distances mainly in the summer months.

I have seen it happen on frequencies as high as 1.2 Ghz.

I think it was ducting in from far off. This was received off a 4 bay Vhf (yes Vhf) antenna at 150 ft. It faded out and did not return.
