Allegan County New Radio System

I am trying to find out what the new system will be but here is what was in the document:

2.5.4 Contract award for a Consultant is anticipated by the end of May, 2015.

2.5.5 The County expects the overall implementation of a new radio system to be
completed within eighteen (18) months of award.

2.5.6 New radio system must be fully operational and deployed across all County
radio users by December 31st, 2016.

Do you want to be in charge of your towers and Talkgroups?
There is a lot of reason why.
No decision yet. I will keep an eye on this and post something as soon as I find out.

Which would cost about the same, or more, than setting up your own system. (Unless staying conventional, which is doubtful.)

Allegan County seeks a consultant to assist the County in replacing and/or upgrading
its 800MHz radio system with necessary enhancements to its VHF radio system to
meet a deadline of December 31, 2016.

Here is what they want for starters.

How long was allegan on 800 before mpscs came along, I don't recall the years but think it was before. This system today probably has it's own set of towers etc in the county, just guessing. If they decide to fore-go what they have then is most of this wasted $$'s. I guess now it would be long term costs of what they have or get rid of it. I wonder how many county radios can use TG's on MPSCS all ready.

If I am reading this correctly, they want to put up their own APCO25 Phase I or II system which is separate from the States. I am sure they have some Interoperability.
