Has Uniden improved the audio in The Homepatrol 2 ?? I have a Homepatrol I and cant hardly hear it in the car.

I've never had much luck with any scanner in a vehicle - too much road noise to overcome.
So I consider an amplified speaker (along with a GPS device) as an essential part of the purchase.

Can you recommend, an amplified speaker?
I've used the Radio Shack amplified speakers in the past. Currently I'm using the Uniden 23A speakers:
