I'm having trouble programming tuning on/off the narrowband setting on my TM-V71, the manual (http://manual.kenwood.com/files/494077600f426.pdf) states on page 10 that a 'N' will show on the display when narrow FM mode is activated, but that's the only mention of it in the manual.

Go into the MENU
item 102 "MODLAT..."
Select NFM.

Then you can save it into memory by channel.

Guess I have to ask. Why are you worried about narrow band mode on a ham radio? Do you have narrow band HAM Frequency's in your area?

Narrow band only needs to be used on commercial frequencies.
