This morning I heard Aurora Comm center calling Zulu units on the Burlington / Niagara Talkgroup. They were assisting with collisions and road closures at accidents. Who or what are the Zulu units?

Usually, they are Prisoner Transfer Units. Perhaps they were idle at Maplehurst and Vanier in Milton and helped out due to their proximity.
Prisoner Transport units in Central Region always use 1 Kilo since Central North is in Southern Georgian Bay's area.
Zulu seems to be used for specialized detail units.

I was thinking they might be using this designation for the PanAm games traffic enforcement units.
