I think kc4wsd is tracking what I'm looking for QDP2012,thanks.

Something in numerical order so I can quickly identify who is talking on say WakeNorthDurant from all the different agencies I have programmed on my BCD396T (fyi, using freescan).

That looks like a list that should be on a Wiki page (if it isn't already.) :D
I agree and any RR member is welcome to edit the wiki and add it. I might get some time early this week and do it myself if time allows.

I'll start on it now, so you can focus on adjusting whatever might need adjustment in the Wiki page, and maybe save some time that way.

EDIT: The list has been placed on the VIPER TalkGroup ID Ranges Wiki page.

Hope this helps,

Am I understanding correctly, that the list is sorted by county, and then also sorted by TGID within each county?

Marshall, QDP2012, and others, what I did was simply download the file from the database, copy and paste it into a Google Sheets document. I placed (roughly) each group of ten thousand on a separate sheet. This just makes my personal search quicker.

The reason for doing it the way I did (using Google Drive) was to make it easier, and faster, for me to find a given talkgroup on multiple devices, "on the fly." The database is an awesome resource, but it's much more than I need for a quick reference.

Marshall, I'll send you a link to the spreadsheet. QDP2012, send me an e-mail to kc4wsd (at) gmail (dot) com, and I'll send you a link also.

Remember, it's a "work in progress."

Because of the configuration on my end, I'd appreciate it if you could send the link to me by PM.

Thanks,

I understand. As more statewide trunked systems like VIPER get built, I'm wondering if there might be a way to import/link a range of talkgroups from the DB into the Wiki, similar to the way the <site> and <tg> and <freqsubcat> commands show the DB's tower-sites, talkgroups, and frequencies lists in a Wiki page. If such a thing would be possible, then those range-listings would auto-update with the DB changes, and possibly save folks like you a lot of work.

Just a thought,

A request for this capability has been submitted in the Wiki forum thread: New Wiki Extension request for viewing RRDB TG ranges.

Looks good.

Now if they would produce a list of what each individual Id is used for.

That would make it easier for scanner programming.

Ex would be:

46000- Emergency Management
46001- Ems Dispatch
46002- Fire Dispatch

and so one
