IT'S ALIVE!! The Milwaukee portion of OASIS is up and running this morning. I was able to briefly monitor it before work between 6 and 645 this morning. The control channel was 853.525. Activity was heard on the new frequencies that are not used on the current analog system (851.5625, 853.2125, etc). I was hearing a lot of radio checks for mobile and base radios from various departments (unable to identify during my rush to work). I was also hearing patches from the analog system such as W. Allis FD paging & dispatch, Milw. Co F2, and Wauwatosa PD. All of the TGID's are different from the analog system; lots of new things to learn.
The signal was good at my location; had to move the scanner around a little to find that sweet spot. Audio wise, sounds like they need to do some tweaking, at times it sounded very good and then it sounded like the usual chirpy and garbled digital.
