DSD Plus Frequencies lists

I'm tracking a Con+ multi site trunk system. I can receive several sites quite well and have been busy figuring out Sort Orders and OTA Channels.

So far I've created a separate DSDPlus.frequencies list for each site, but a thought struck me.

Can I combine all of them into one frequency list as long as I"m careful to identify the network, site, frequencies per site, OTA Channel, and Sort Order?

Or do I need to continue to create a DSDlus.frequencies list for each site?

I haven't seen it suggested anywhere that one should make separate DSDPlus.frequencies files for any reason. All frequency entries for any NEXEDGE or Con+ systems I monitor are all in the same file and no problems here. I just use comment lines to separate and ID each system/site.

Thanks. That makes sense since the protocol, network, and site information are included. Once the program is parked on a control channel, it should fivure out the rest.

DSD with slicer only

Thanks very much Slicer Wizard for posting those file listings. Please forgive me for what may be a simple question but I am having trouble finding docuementation for DSDPlus and a descriminator port radio setup only.

Is there any dos syntax to use the attached files or create one I can edit if monitoring CON+ systems. I'm hoping that if on a cc channel dsdplus can output the remaining channels? I doubt the same exists for CAP+ but is also worth asking.

Do I just paste the attached into the file names and run the program dsdplus.exe?
I'm trying to make the best use of this simplified setup

There is an important item missing from your question, namely the receiver program you wish to use. DSD+ must be used in conjunction with a "receiver program" to process and route the baseband audio, such as FMP24 (included with the DSD+ package), Unitrunker or SDR#, to name a few. And AFAIK for trunk-tracking DMR you must have at least one rtl sdr dongle linked to FMP24. So you should really consider just ordering two (2) rtl sdr dongles.

If you insist on only using tapped scanners, you could use Unitrunker or SDR# along with DSD#, but AFAIK it would be impossible to run two instances of DSD+ in trunk following mode. You could still monitor individual DMR frequencies, however.

I knew I would need a second unit to listen. I was hoping DSD+ and a descriminator port would collect info from control channel to identify and log to the .frequencies text file the individual voice channels frequencies.

You point DSD+'s input to your sound card device. That's what you're connecting your tapped radio to.

If you have DSD+ 1.101, you should already have all of those text files (DSDPlus.networks, DSDPlus.sites, DSDPlus.frequencies)

You just use Notepad to edit them. In Windows Explorer, you right click on them and select Open with, and then select Notepad. Then you just highlight and copy the text from your browser and paste it into Notepad.

Thanks Slicerwizard. I have already hooked up as described and have edited the files and am hearing the transmisions and seeing on screen the info you had provided with thanks

What I was looking for was to see if there is a way to have DSD+ to append new info such as frequencies and lcn numbers automatically into those files as I thought you were indicating could happen with that setup (descrim and DSD+)

Sounds like I am in wishful thinking mode but you don't know till you ask

DSD+ doesn't write anything to those three files. You have to maintain them yourself. If you come across a new (to you, at least) trunking system, you have to copy the data from the RR database or figure out the frequencies and LCNs yourself. You just have to match control channel announcements with activity on voice channels.

Minnesota p25 frequency list

just wondering if someone would help me make a frequency list, here is a screen shot of dsdplus fmp24. also has random drop offs then has to refind the sites. hoping this will help if i make this list? contact me if you would like the dsd event file it wouldnt let me upload it.

also is there a way to have it hold on when you start the program. i would like to keep a lock or hold on one talk group.

How do you start each system ? Do you make a bat file for each system with the control channel? Right now, I have 5 separate folders, each with a complete dsd setup for systems. If I put all freqs in the file like you did, what's the easiest way to start up a system?

I just manually tune CC FMP24 to the control channel of the system/site I want to monitor. I'd be nice if there was some sort of dialog to choose a system/site.
