This new Air Force trunked site showed up this month in the Denver metro area and it shows up as a neighbor on the other Air Force sites in Colorado Springs shown below. The new site is Buckley. Sounds like they are moving from the Denver area Federal system ( Denver Area Federal / Military Trunking System, Aurora, Colorado - Scanner Frequencies )

Site / Location
101 / Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB)
104 / Schriever Air Force Base (SAFB)
105 / Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS)
112 / US Air Force Academy (USAFA)
113 / Buckley Air Force Base

Here is the link to the Air Force system:
United States Air Force (BEE00-157) Trunking System, Various, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies

Anyone hearing any good talk groups?

Thanks!

Dan

Great catch Dan!

Unfortunately, I don't think Buckley's encryption has changed in favor of the casual listener. I only started logging and listening after you posted, so haven't had a chance to see what daytime activity is like.

Interestingly enough, it looks like a couple of USAFA radios made the attempt to affiliate to Buckley this morning regardless of the distances involved. Sadly, they were denied.

Thanks for the new info! It should be helpful to compare old logs from the Fed system to the new logs of the Air Force system to figure out the new TG IDs.

Also, something to keep in mind, on the Federal system, Buckley TGs were in numerical order but not in decimal form. They were in order using hex (base-16). Even the VA and FPS TGs were that way. Below is an example of what I am talking about on the old Fed system:

Dec / Hex / Name

7584 / 1da / BAFB Law 1
7600 / 1db / BAFB Law 2

7808 / 1e8 / BAFB Fire 1
7824 / 1e9 / BAFB Fire 2

(Note: The Hex numbers shown above have the last digit of zero dropped off as they also do in RadioReference.)

It looks like they are NOT doing that on the Air Force system though, but not much data to go off so far.

Everything is encrypted, exception being the two Aurora FD patches. I don't think we'll be able to identify anything anytime soon.
