I have a BCD536HP installed in my car. Every time I start up the radio I need to enter the time and date. Is there a battery going bad and can I change it myself

I suggest you search the Uniden forums and read all the tales of woe over the battery problem.

I don't think you're going to enjoy the responses.

It is a known issue and Uniden knows it. They are trying to figure out how to fix it. Make sure you have the latest firmware version for the scanner. The new firmware allows you to be able to scan without having to reset the clock and date.
