I use WIN96 to program my Pro-96 and noticed that there is no P25 setting like in the newer scanners like the Pro-668. I believe the setting is MOT for listening to P25. What happens if I set the Pro 668 to setting to Motorola instead of P25?

The Pro-668 will try to do exactly what you programmed it to do and try to decode the P25 control channel as a Motorola control channel. The result is silence since it won't understand the control channel it is looking at. The Pro-96 automatically figured out whether it was P25 or Motorola.

lwolf1313 what are you trying to accomplish. If you are trying to get rid of digital break up (motor boating) you have 2 places to adjust. If that does not work you need more signal strength. If you are at full bars then you may be suffering from P25 simulcast problems which is a whole new game.

Sounds like the solution is to use the software specific to the radio. You don't have to worry about these settings since you don't need to use them.

different scanners same systens

I am using software specific to each scanner. And I worked out my simulcast issue with a corner reflector. It's just two different scanners, a Pro-668 and a PSR-500 with the same systems programmed in and the same everything, talkgroups, etc and one will pick up the system and the other will not. And two other systems both scanners will not hear them. On one the talkgroups shows up on the monitoring software but no audio. Does sound like a simulcast issue but the system is not simulcasted.
