Hi all, is there anyone in the northeast that is hearing any beacons on 10 meters?
I am listening in on 28.150 to 28.300 USB and have not heard anything. I was just wondering if the band isn't open or do I have a problem with my antenna.
Also is there a good time to listen to 28.4 USB for making contact?
Thanks
Frank

It's spastic. The band was up a bit yesterday, had stations on 28.400. The months prior have been great with fm repeaters active but recently it has been much lower. Just sit on 28.400 and you will soon hear someone.

10 meters

I have a commercial radio on 10m fm that runs all the time, scanning simplex and the repeater frequencies.
There are very few days that I don't hear at least one or two signals, usually a repeater. 10 is up a lot more than we think it is.

Thanks all for the replies. I made a contact wit a buddy of mine on 28.325 this morning, just to test things. We could both copy eachother but band conditions seemed pretty poor. I'm still hunting for beacons, nothing yet. I have been told most US beacons are between 28.2 and 28.3.
