Word is Hanscom AFB is installing a new five channels 380 MHz Trunking System. Does anyone know if the system is up and active yet?

According to that site, the contract has not been awarded yet, it just closed today.

Finally something (Proof) other than Rumor (15+ years) that they are moving off VHF

It did say "existing GTR" site, I guess that's something to keep an eye out for!

I read that to mean that it just needs to be backward compatible with (or built up from) the existing conventional Motorola GTR VHF system.

Completion date now March 2016, which probably doesn't mean much since the previous completion was next Monday.

Will be keeping an eye on this -- thanks for the heads up.

Will probably be very similar to the 380 TRS at Newport and Subase New London.

Don't rule out 400-420 as well, it's the FEDS, who knows

Good point. I've been searching 380-400 two or three times a week for a few months. May as well extend it to 420.

If the contract stuff just closed and not awarded, don't planning on hearing things THAT quickly

If/when things do come on the air, pay special attention to the system ID so that its submitted to an existing DoD system and NOT as a new TRS.

If anything like the Navy side, it will be awhile.
Portsmouth Ship Yard in Kittery Maine only went active the other day for build out and is now shut off for work

I'll keep searching 380 - 420 periodically just in case something pops up, but it seems like I'd have better luck finding something interesting by concentrating on the VHF bands or the MassPort frequencies.

What is the RFSS and site number? You will need that for a database submission.
