I have 3 NMO Mount Antennas.
Have had them for a few years.
They work great.

But 2 of them the base/housing is cracking.

Wondering if I could just order a new one, and where to look for it.

I have a PDF of the full Laird/Antenex catalog from last year. I took a look and they had that antenna, but I didn't see anywhere that listed the coils as a separate order-able item.
Could be I just didn't look in the right place.

A call to Laird might be a good idea. I know that some of the other commercial antenna manufacturers sell individual coils for at least some of their models.

On the other hand, by the time you track the part down, and probably pay and inflated price to get it direct from the factory, you might come out cheaper just ordering a whole new antenna.

That's an interesting failure. I don't use those brand antennas at work although I do have some of my own. Do you know what caused the failure? I've never seen that happen with any of mine.

Added in edit:

You can reach Laird at 1-800-323-3757 or visit their website at www.lairdtech.com

Thanks I called and left a message with Support.

Not sure what caused it really.
They are both Several Years old. (the other one is B1443).
They have both been cracked like this for quite some time.

They were on Trunkmounts, never really messed with them much, one day I noticed they were cracked.

Interestingly enough they both have similar numbers on the bottom.
Not sure if it's S/N or manufacturing codes.

Piss poor quality control and choice of 'plastic' used.

This is one reason we quit using this junk more than ten years ago.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I've been using almost exclusively Larsen antennas for about 15 years and haven't seen this issue. Just wanted to get some background on it.
