After my Ford Explorer got hit by a driver that ran a yield sign, i ended up buying a Dodge Charger.

All I have installed so far is the Motorola Astro Spectra.

Nice install , love the charger and I know your a fireman but it sure looks like an unmarked police car. I'm sure people slow down when they see you.
I also liked your Explorer install. Both were done professionally and looked clean.

Looks good! Was going to say the same thing wise871 said -- I bet folks do a brake check when they see you even though it isn't a police package ride.

Nice pick to replace the lost vehicle; probably will get better mileage with it than the truck. ;)

Very nice install, but question for you. With the way you have your trunk unit mounted (very nicely done) are you going to have enough ventilation to keep the trunk unit cool?

I had mine in the truck for several years. Never really had a problem with heat or cold.

I'm keeping a close eye on this build! I have a '10 Charger SXT that I want start building out. Thought about using the overhead sunglasses holder.

If you are using remote mount radios, I found the best place for them in the trunk was on the back seat frame. I took a piece of 1/2 plywood, painted it black and nut and bolted it to the frame. Depending on how many radios (weight) you put on it you can even lower it into the back seat area of the car for repairs.
Pics to follow if I can find them, I did the install on my Charger back in 2009.

Looks nice! Just one point, if that is the only circuit breaker for the main +12 feed, it should be installed closer (as close as possible) to the battery or the spot your pulling power from. If that's the only breaker the wiring will be unprotected from that breaker to the battery. Make sure the amp rating is suitable for the wire size as well.

I have since changed things up. I swapped out the W4 control head for the W3 hhch. I finally drilled a hole in the trunk for the Astro + and the secondary radio is installed in the truck. I just ran the speaker to the front and everything else is in the back. The secondary radio is just for our paging towers and fire dept. frequency.

Yes, very good install. All our Spectras that are mounted vertical are heatsink up for much better cooling. You just turn yours heatsink up and it will run forever even with lots of transmitter use like ham radio guys and gals.

Heat rises...
