Found a new one, this one audible from the Annapolis area, ground level at good strength. 165.16250 with NAC $00F, in the clear. Units running individuals through TMU and NCIC at a gate or two, not yet finding anything specific to tell me where or who. Thought I'd put this one out there in case anyone else wants to lend an ear too.

I was thinking that, like a VHF simulcast of one of those, except for the RIDs and TGID showing (failed to mention that bit before).

TGID was coming up as 15 with RIDs under 1000, I think 900s and 700s if I remember right. So either a single freq trunk or a part of a system that's either not noted anywhere or hasn't been seen around here yet. Didn't match up with anything I have so far seen in my limited travels.

Been looking at that one for a few years, during Band Openings into New England...
Only thing we have been able to determine was South of us, based on the Band opening path

TGs: 15 (gate control), 17 (enc)

RIDs under 100 plus 29x (dispatch consoles) on TG 15.
Traffic is MP-oriented, with gate stops and escorts being discussed.

4 and 6 digit RIDs on TG 17 plus 29x again.
Traffic is mostly encrypted, but what's coming through is very military- sounds identical to SINCGARS ground-ground tactical traffic.

So am I, but I (you should too actually) get the talkgroup ID as well, if the P25 conventional transmission also carries a talkgroup ID. That way you can track single-freq trunking.. and I'm not sure if this is single freq trunking or one of very few freqs on a multi-freq system.

Ok - yeah, that's what I did after seeing the posts about TGs, etc. Got one hit of voice since doing so but wasn't watching the screen

Glad it is working for you. I notice one county over don't use multi talkgroups they use the same TG. It looks like you can add more than 1 Freq :)

Originally thought this was just a conventional channel -- seemed like I was missing some parts of conversations and then started searching for additional frequencies in the 163-174 range but didn't detect much at all.

I think the reason I was missing some voice because some of the activity is encrypted (1 side clear, other side some/most times encrypted) and the Uniden x36's mutes the voice. The GRE/Whistlers helped me determine that was the case.

You don't necessarily have to do that either (RE single freq trunking), you can just monitor conventional and if your portable is set to display talkgroup numbers they'll show up. It'll also show up in the recording pane of EzScanDG for the PSR800. The only thing is that you have to do the one-freq system if you only want to monitor one of the multiple talkgroups in use.

Someone needs to hit it on unitrunker and that would bring up the set frequencies if it is indeed a trunk system at least in theory it should list it out over a period of time

UT only tracks CC data though, right? As far as I've ever seen, UT just drops out whenever there's a voice transmission on a trunked system and doesn't decode the inline data on the voice freq.

Well the way it sounds its a trunking system so there's gotta be a cc out there somewhere for the radios to work. If that's the case

Looking in the NTIA db this AM, there are 14 licences within 500 km of Baltimore. Langley, VA and Seymour Johnson in NC. Seymour Johnson was the only one with a trunked system, but it is on 406 MHz.

Holding on that frequency for just under two hours just after lunch today I saw:

TGID 15: twenty-nine (29) radio IDs ranging from 1 to 621221 (half of the IDs were under 100)
TGID 17: four (4) radio IDs ranging from 296-7716 (wide range of IDs)

The only common radio ID across the two TGs was "1"
