Does anyone know what TG 416 is used for ? I have it used on the following radios:

I have 416 logged as MN HSEM Tac 2.
I don't have any ID's logged to the RID you listed, but found most fit in my logs with RID spreads for MSP, except the 10095#- most 1009## RID's I have logged are to fire units that are also State Resources- MN TF1, CAT teams Etc.

Correct on Homeland Sec, I have 414 as tac 1.
I suspect these may be tac channels for HSEM statewide resources , I have 414 as HSEM.

I think 412 is part of the metro MN DOT multigroup (280, 282, 284, 286, 288, 290, 292, 294, 296, 298, 300, 302, 304, 306, 308, 310, 312, 314, 316, 318, 320, 322, 324, 326, 328, 332, 334, 336, 340, 342, 352, 354, 356, 360, 384, 388, 390, 396, 408, 410, 412).

Neither 414 nor 416 have broadcast anything on any of the sites I monitor in the last 30 days.

What do you use to determine the multigroup members ? Unitrunker ?
It would be interesting to make a spreadsheet of all of the multigroups and their members...

Correct on Homeland Sec, I have 414 as tac 1.
I suspect these may be tac channels for HSEM statewide resources , I have 414 as HSEM.

The only hits I've seen on TG 416 are from ID 700538 as well, which ndradionut had ID'd as an MSP user.

It is in the GRP_AFF_RSP messages.

So if the message looks something like:
28 00 00 0e 48 0e 22 01 ec f2
In order the parts are:
28 - opcode
00 - mfid
00 - success
0e 48 - 3656 (talkgroup mislabeled as Narcotics 2) all call talkgroup associated with talkgroup the radio is switched to
0e 22 - 3618 (Washington County LE North) talkgroup the radio is switched to
01 ec f2 - 126194 radio id (Washington County Sheriff)

No, it is GRP_AFF_RSP (Group Affiliation Response). I imagine that it is sent in response to someone changing the talkgroup selector on their radio.

I imagine it goes like:
Radio: I am radio 126194 and I want to listen to talkgroup 3618.
Tower: OK, radio 126194 you can listen for talkgroup 3618 and should also listen for talkgroup 3656.

It will be 00 00 in cases when it is not part of a multigroup. For example:
28 00 00 00 00 0e 5e 01 f1 19

There don't seem to be messages with opcode 28 and a non-zero mfid, but if you encounter any, they should be ignored. Any messages without the 00 in the field I called success should also be ignored.

I don't add an entry to my list unless it occurs twice.

Final detail, some software might also show the first byte as A8 [messages are packaged up into groups of 3, the last one has a bit set to indicate that it is the last one].

Just my own. I imagine it could be easily added to anything that decodes control channels.
