"patched to" Question

on my uniden 436 i pick up a few patched to freq.

am I correct that its trunked patched to analog? i assume for compatibility with older equipment in use.

I was going to remove the analog freq so I am not scanning it twice

or am I way off?

What system/frequencies are you talking about?

If you're talking about how a fire dispatch talkgroup on a trunked system may be patched to a conventional channel 24/7, then yes it probably wouldn't hurt to remove it from your scan list. I like keeping the conventional resource in my scan list because it's sometimes easier to hear an analog conventional channel than a digital simulcast.

Plus some of the old conventional base radios cover significantly more than a trunked system.
