Well, it looks like there will be some new system for Cape City in the near future. Just seen that an application was made to the FCC for a 800 MHz system here in Cape! It was submitted 9/15/15 and has the following frequencies -
856.4375 FB2
857.4375 FB2
811.4375 MO
812.4375 MO
856.4375 MO
857.4375 MO
Emission 20K0F3E
Several things odd about this - it appears to be an application for a couple of standard 800 MHz repeater systems with the standard 45 MHz split and TA on the repeater output for the mobiles. It is also going to be licensed as analog and not digital. The repeater site is at the MOSWIN tower at I-55 and Kingshighway.
I have no idea what this is going to be for - I was under the impression that both the FD and PD were going to go on MOSWIN. According to the MOSWIN Map Book, CGFD has over 40 radios and I assumed that the reason they weren't on it operationally is because the main dispatch point doesn't have the capacity to integrate MOSWIN with their consoles at the present time (the MOSWIN radios are mobile units stuck in the consoles). CGFD does use MOSWIN for purely admin stuff from time to time, but not for daily operations.
CGFD already has a dedicated repeater and so does CGPD. Public works has a TRBO system that is relatively new as well. I am really at a loss as what this is going to be for. I guess I am going to have to punch those in and let the scanner start logging that when the license comes through.
