I heard traffic tonight on Simulcast G on TalkGroup 1811 which isn't shown in the database. It sounded like emergency 'firefighter in trouble' traffic, or possibly a training session. Anyone know what TG 1811 is?

I'm thinking it is Sun City West Channel K3, but I have not heard enough descriptive radio traffic to positively identify. Every city that is part of the Phoenix Fire regional dispatch has their own K2-K5 talkgroups. K2 & K3 for each city are in the clear, K4 & K5 for each city are encrypted. We have identified Phoenix K2-K5 and Glendale K2-K3. The rest are still relatively unidentified as they are not used very often. There have been some posts in the forums over the years with some possibilities. If anyone can positively identify, please submit to the DB.

interesting, thanks. I was thinking the admin TGs were all encrypted, I didn't know 2 & 3 are not. And with multiple cities and little use, we might never know!

I wish I'd paid more attention to it, but I ended up locking it out. A few months ago I was listening to my scanner and it stopped on a Phoenix fire channel where the dispatcher was reporting injuries on the fireground with at least one firefighter hurt and unable to exit the structure. The first time I heard it I got extremely concerned. I discovered, however, that it was a training channel so that might be what you've been hearing. I was hearing it almost daily and that's why I locked it out. Too "stressful".

Supposedly:
1600-1603 Tempe K5-K2

1632-1635 Tolleson K5-K2
1636-1639 Scottsdale K5-K2
1640-1643 Peoria K5-K2 (I've recently seen 1640 come active, encrypted)
1644-1647 Paradise Valley K5-K2
1648-1651 Surprise K5-K2
1652-1655 Sun City K5-K2
1656-1659 Maricopa K5-K2
1660-1663 Goodyear K5-K2
1664-1667 Glendale K5-K2
1668-1671 Guadalupe K5-K2
1672-1675 Gila River K5-K2
1676-1679 Chandler K5-K2
1680-1683 Buckeye K5-K2
1684-1687 Avondale K5-K2

1737-1740 Daisy Mtn K5-K2

1805-1808 Sun Lakes K5-K2
1809-1812 Sun City West K5-K2
1813-1816 Luke AFB K5-K2
1817-1820 El Mirage K5-K2
1821-1824 Buckeye Valley K5-K2

I have these programmed in, and it wouldn't hurt if others did as well. If more people listen to the "unknown" talkgroups in the 1600/1700/1800 range, which with the exception of a few G-deck and H-deck TG's seems to be mostly FD use, maybe we'll find more unencrypted talkgroups, and we can start identifying them as well.

I think the SCW K-3 has been reported with hydrant testing in the past.

Wow, thanks John. I'll put them in and see what happens, but I suspect if I haven't caught them with a wildcard by now they're probably not real busy and I still might not catch anything, but it'll be interesting to try.

I got these in an email years ago. Most probably aren't used much, if at all. But, if we don't monitor them, we may miss it when they do get used. And there's no telling if/when they may get used.

So I think more of us should monitor them on a regular basis.

I have had them in for sometime now and hear next to nutin on them. The most active is PhxFD K2 with Central City. Since they are encrypted I left off the K4s & K5s.

My question is what for example a non Phx Dept is assigned to K2 for a event are they using their Depts K2 or the Phx K2?
