need help programming scanner

I have a Uniden BCD 396 XT scanner.
I am trying to program a digital frequencies and tags into my scanner.

I do not have any ideal what I am doing wrong. Can some tell how to hand program my scanner in detail.

hit the bottom left pad (menu)
Program system, hit yes
select system, turn top knob to highlight new system, hit yes
highlight MOT,hit yes
P25, hit yes
confirm, hit yes
turn top knob to highlight set frequencies, hit yes
new frequency, hit yes
type in XXX.XXXX
then hit yes
also you should put in the red and blue freqs from the data base.
just hit the menu button (bottom left) it acts like a backspace thing
put them all in
hit scan
you can go back and put in the names but at least you can hear something.

That will work if it is a trunked system. But, the OP was not clear on specifically what was being programmed.

Try to add MPSCS for up north.
How do I add for example 911 central dispatch the dec is4336 and the Hex is FC4?

With systems much more complicated than a few years ago, your best bet is to get FreeScan and the cable with a RR Premium subscription.
