Butt server Help

I have Butt up and running on my Mac. I was wondering how to configure it for the best streaming audio.
I have it set to mono with sample rate of 22050hz.
I have streaming set to MP3 at a bitrate of 16k. Thanks

What you have is our standard for a mono feed.
So you are OK as is.

what is the slider for that has -24dB on one end and +24dB on the other end? it was in the middle by default but I moved all the way to -24dB.

Leave it in the middle, or your listeners won't hear anything. Putting it to -24db will silence your feed. Putting it to +24db will make it too loud and it will cut out/sound horrible.

Ok so i received the Pyle loop isolator. It makes no difference in the hum. Is there something im missing?
