Izzy!

Look carefully, there are a few new ones that were not listed before under the license but now are, which is why I believe Joe-seppy is asking! :)

That's what I was talking about 453.0 and 460.2625 are new as for the vhf I thought maybe that would be for interdepartmental the other 2 460.425 is channel 1 and 458.575 is EMS freq 3 453.600 and 460.2625 are each listed for 50 units so I'm thinking there must be some type of change in frequencies occuring

Thanks Izzy, Bill and Manny

The current channel 2 has lots of local traffic on it when the PL is dropped. It is a business channel and I believe a user in NH on the same 461.xxx frequency. The new repeater pair is for public safety and could potentially replace channel 2.

The VHF Channel has had active traffic on it for over a year

151.2875 DPL 343

Also if you notice the 461.450 has been silent for the last 6 months..........But MED 42 has been loud and clear in Ansonia for about 6 months

I also beleive MED 42 may be the patch channel for Griffin? I haven't been listening to it so can someone confirm?

I've been really behind on the times and Manny pointed out! LOL

You are correct there grandpa! ;) Med 42 ( 463.0875 ) is used for patches to Griffin hosp. with a 192.8 PL.
The thing that I find interesting is that 463.150 (med-7 ) is still being used for patches to Yale with the old 167.9 PL. Now, if a Valley unit served by Northwest P.S. ( IE..Ansonia / Derby ) goes to Yale, do they switch to med-7 and have AMR-Medcomm patch them in? Or does Northwest P.S. have a different channel for them to patch in? All I have been able to hear on Med-7 is AMR rigs patching in.

The way I've been told is this;

NSPW controls patches Mid-State and Griffin now.

MED-COMM controls Yale, St. Ray's campus and the VA.

Yale-Guilford is patched by Valley Shore

Milford is patched by South West.

I still have to confirm all of these except for NWPS.

MedComm monitors Med 10 167.9. They assign a Med Channel on the same channels used when CMED was around for Yale St Rays and WHVA. The same 167.9 PL is in use.

Ok, thats sounds really good guys if that is how it is supposed to be done, except for one thing. Since talking about this topic, I have been steadily monitoring ARMS / Derby and Medcomm as well as all the med channels. On at least 4 or more occasions where a unit goes to Yale with a Zulu medic on-board from Ansonia or Derby, I have heard nothing, zero, nada on any of the above mentioned channels. All I hear is say, Ansonia saying they are going to Yale on their frequency, then again stating when they arrive at Yale. Nothing on Medcomm or any of the med channels which I even monitor in open carrier in case there is a PL change or anything like that. Unless they are calling in via phone, I don't see what other means they are using to notify Yale. I don't get it.....

a. Do you have the Splinter Med Channels programmed ? ie 12.5 Khz
b. There are Agencies/Hospitals that do rely on Cellular

Yes! I have it set up where the regular med channels are grouped together and another area where the splinter channels are grouped together. I monitor both separately or simultaneous if need be. It just so happens that I have been monitoring both together for this with nothing heard.

Yale does not require patches for every transport. Priority 1, medical control, trauma alert/codes, stroke alert... require a patch.

Cell Phone

Probably about 1/3 of the ALS patches I deal with are by phone..... But that's for the CMED thread

we only do as far south as griffin, it falls on the ambulance if they transport into a different cmed territory to sign on with them and communicate as needed. usually if i am on the cmed side, i will give the other cmed center a heads up if one of my units is going to one of their hospitals, i dont believe medcom requires pickup location or anything but we do just for records purposes.
