Asheville PD and FD

I want to monitor Asheville PD and FD from Travelers Rest, SC. Which Buncombe County Viper site do I need to program frequencies from?

You're not going to hear them on VIPER. They're on their own 800 radio system that doesn't cover much further than the city limits. I'm afraid you're out of luck.

I gotta agree with trumpetman on that one. I can't come up with any scanner/antenna combo that can cover that 50 or so mile distance with the terrain obstacles that would have to be overcome.

You best bet would be an internet feed.

Thanks. I didn't know what they were using. I was interested in the dive operations near the Broad River. I will try the internet feed.

I listen to apd when in the city. I live roughly 20 miles from asheville and pick up them up occasionally with a rat shack roof mounted dipole antenna. if i was10 or 15 miles away i think i could hear them. but you also have to consider all the mountains around us and whats in between your location and where they are
