There's a loud hum noise in my feed when I power my scanner with the wall outlet and it's louder when I use a UPC. Can anyone help solve this? It sounds great when running on batteries but I can't do that all the time. My scanner is a Pro 106.

I have mp3 files saved of my feed with all different variations, battery with ground loop isolator/wall outlet/upc...but had to zip them to attach them here. What's weird with batteries is the volume is louder with the loop isolator than without it, not sure why on that.

Below are my specs and what I'm using:

Have you tried playing around with alsamixer? especially on the capture side? You press F4 or something to get to the capture settings (It has been a while since I have played with it).

yes, the recommendation is to keep that at 6, which I have. I've moved it all around but doesn't get rid of the hum. only changes the volume

If you can try connecting the scanner to a different circuit other than the one the Pi is running on. I've found that those ground loop isolators are hit or miss. Especially in the pro audio field. I had constant hums on my monitors and mains that were connected via a snake to the Mackie board. Turns out even with the ground loop isolator with them being on the same circuit they still caused a hum. Ran a new dedicated circuit for the mixer and everything was resolved
