Have heard techs running radio checks on Sheriff's dispatch frequency. Have also heard Deputies asking dispatch if they're on the right frequency. Any news of which I am not aware?

I too have heard the mixed mode here in Wheatland I think they might be testing the radios so everyone is on the same sheet of music when they officially switch over

I have accidentally picked up some Cedar County P25 traffic on 151.340 NAC 064. Perhaps this is actually 151.3475 in West Branch? At one time, 151.3475 was DMR and patched into Cedar Co OPS analog repeater. Perhaps someone closer can confirm?

I heard 151.3475 a couple of weeks ago. It was P25 but I didn't get the NAC written down. I was near Anamosa at the time, so it would make sense that it would be West Branch PD.

The frequencies are so close to the new highway helper frequency, without a NAC your scanner is going to stop on 151.340 or 151.3475 regardless of who is talking.

I did some more listening, it has all been Cedar County traffic. Hearing routine traffic.

151.3475

Today I have been picking up Cedar County traffic on 151.3475 NAC 064 and at the same time getting digital noise on my conventional scanner on 151.220 which of course is Cedar County Ops.

I checked and at the same time as the .3475 there was also a transmission on 151.220 with an NAC of 064

151.3475 of course has been listed as WBPD for quite a while and at one time it WAS digital but went conventional a while back.

I also heard what sounded like Highway Helper on 151.340 (which registered as the WBPD on my PSR800 and WAS digital and showed a NAC of 064

just heard a Highway Helper on 151.3475 NAC of 052............talking about being "Real busy around here with the open house and a airplane crash in Council Bluffs" ------------------SOMETHING must be linked. Again was talking to "Base"

I was in Iowa City and 151.3475 (NAC052) had transmissions were about Interstate 80. Unfortunately I was not in town long and the batteries died in the handheld..

How far away are you from West Branch?

Anamosa.........................30 miles line of sight at the most

Actually 5 mi South of Anamsoa

Actually kind of ticked because I had to lock out Cedar County on my work HT because of the digital hash. We are a backup agency for Cedar and we have their frequency in our radios for mutual aide

Yep, that is the highway helper bleeding over into the licensed frequency for West Branch. Its best to run NAC decode on 151.340 and 151.3475 to band aid the interference.
