It's been a while since I posted any pics of my mobile set up. I've still got my black 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van. Installed is a VHF Hi Band Motorola Syntor A9 (110 watt), a VHF Lo Motorola Syntor A9 (110 watt), portable charger, and tablet mount.

And to head off anyone asking their use is for my work with the American Red Cross. I'm the Disaster Services Chief for Rowan County. If you're ever monitoring our system and hear 990 that's me. In addition to the mobiles I have my two dept issued XTS5000's, EFJ 5100 VHF portable, and Kenwood TK390. This initial pic is a sneak peak from a night time shot last night. Once the rain knocks off I'll get better pics of the interior and antennas. Thanks for looking!!! (And I apologize for the blurry pic. It was taken with my iPhone)

Curious as to who you talk to on the VHF Syntor?

In the original post I noted that I'm the Disaster Services Chief for the American Red Cross in my county. Both the highband and low band Syntors are used in that regard

**EDIT** Let me clarify a little more........ The mobiles I rarely use transmit wise. We all know the Syntors are not NB capable, however I really don't notice a difference in modulation with it still at 25 KHz. When I talk on the radio 99.9% of the time it's on one of my two issued XTS5000 (800) portables.

Updated Pics as of 12-28-15

My apologies for the delay in posting more pics of my vehicle. Between the holidays and deciding to move a few things around I'm finally getting around to it. I welcome any feedback you guys have, except, from the SARP........ Also, I haven't posted antenna pics yet as I still have a bit to do in that regard. I haven't gotten my low band antenna installed just yet because of the wonderful weather we've been having here in NC. Again, thanks for looking!!! ***NOTE - The low band is also an 110 watt Syntor with A9 head. The face of the original head was cracked and I had an old Maratrac head that I salvaged the face from. It works well as I didn't need the full keypad for the low band. Didn't want anyone thinking it was some sort of mutant Maratrac lol. I also changed the trim and replaced the buttons on the Highband head.***

More to come!!

Very nice job. Can you say where the tablet mount is from and give a closer shot of it? I would like to try to copy something like that. Thanks.

Mike,

I've actually moved it as it didn't work very well where it was so I'll post a new picture shortly of it's new location. I bought the mount itself at a store called Five Below here in Salisbury. It was only $5. I figured I'd give it a shot to see how well it worked and it proved to do a good job. the bracket I used to mount the disc the suction cup sticks to is an old metal clamshell mount used to install old hard mount cell phones. I'll get some better shots shortly and get them posted for you to see.

UPDATED Pics

WatnNY (Mike) requested a little closer shot of my tablet mount so here are a couple more pics of it with and without the tablet inserted. Also including a few other shots, including where I moved my portable charger to (which I didn't get a good shot of before).

The tablet mount is a simple plastic mount I purchased at a store called Five Below. I was skeptical at first but it has worked extremely well, with minimal vibrations. And if it breaks I'm only out $5. Let me know what you guys think & thank you for all the positive feedback thus far!!

Just for reference, the tablet mount was on the passenger side and has been moved to the driver side

Shot from the drivers side (mount was moved to drivers side to make access easier):

That's all at the moment. Once the weather gets a little better I'll post an antenna shot once I get that part redone. Again thanks for all the positive comments thus far and I welcome more, and/or any suggesstions!!

Thanks for the close up shots of the tablet mount. I will have to go to 5 Below and pick me one of those mounts and test it out. Thanks FD5722!

Glad to help Mike. It has been well worth the $5 and if something happens to it I wouldn't hesitate to buy another on. Once you adjust it to the size you need and lock the tablet in it doesn't loosen up at all, even if you slide the tablet out without unlocking it.

Oh, and congrats on post number 1,000. Thanks again for all the views and positive comments!!
