I'm assuming you are referring to entries in the database? T would indicate trunking, and the numbers associated with that are the talkgroup number.

What are you trying to listen to, and which scanner are you using?

It may also be associated with a DMR trunking system. DMR talkgroups display as "T"

DMR trunking is unavailable on scanners "out of the box".

What does the mode T mean and can I use the numbers before to program into my scanner or are they not frequency numbers

TDMA which means two time-slot digital voice channels per frequency. It's used for DMR
(Mototurbo) and also P25 Phase II e.g. Metrolinx systems. Some scanners support Phase II, but not DMR so far.
