What Talkgroups/Frequencies is NV DOT using for snow plowing operations in Reno/Carson city area? I plugged in the database info and hear no traffic on either VHF or 800Mhz.

Also: Careflight for Reno/Eastern Sierra California area is not the VHF channels, but 463.1 Bio-Medical channel. I've got both VHF channels plugged in, and I am line of sigh from mountaintop transmitters, but have never heard any VHF traffic.

GVRanchosBill:

Thanks for the reply; do you mean the NSRS EDACS or the Washoe County EDACS for the Reno area? I have the Washoe county system programmed and the VHF freqencies too.

NDOT uses the statewide EDACS system except for a few talkgroups (primarily NHP) which are hosted on both systems.

REMSA/Careflight is dispatched from REMSA headquarters and uses the REMSA UHF system in Northern Nevada for comms. Careflight is equipped with VHF/800 EDACS/UHF multiband radio on board, but for on scene ground comms in Nevada now uses mostly fire tac channels since the CALCORD (156.075) frequency is the input to NV NDF repeaters and is not available. They may still use this channel in the Tahoe Basin, but it has been deprecated due to interference.

I was wondering about the new NDF input 156.0750 MHz and CALCORD conflict would be resolved.
I noticed that many docs ive seen online still show 159.4500 MHz as input, is it still valid and what is 151.1900 MHz/151.2200 MHz/153.8750 MHz being used for?

Thanks for the info, I'll plug it in. I haven't noticed any ground/air frequency coordination channel mentioned in the Careflight dispatch message. Perhaps there is a designated fire channel that each agency uses for on scene coordination and Careflight crews switch to that channel.

And, do you know if the NSRS Verdi radio site is Chimney Peak?

Thanks,

159.45 has been changed to 156.075.

On scene comms coordination is usually passed enroute from dispatch, sometimes when they launch the FD isn't on scene yet.

There is a site in NSRS at Chimney, don't know whether it is owned by Washoe or the state or a shared site.

Don't know what the other freqs are being used for.

REMSA Dispatch can also be monitored on the Washoe County EDACS system - talk group is 14-141

I know this thread was about NDOT etc but also was the 156.0750 MHz discussed
Its Sunday January 17 2016 @ 23:00 Hrs and i was searching VHF Highband and i heard Careflight 2 on 156.0750 MHz using CTCSS 156.7 calling and talking with East Fork Fire Paramedic/Engine-4 coordinating LZ instructions at U.S.Hwy 395 and S.R.Hwy 208 which at that location is a H-Pad so it appears they are using it at least where it wont interfere with NDF repeaters input, i dont think that NDF repeater could be activated from there although Snow Valley & McClellan sites are still very close.

I can confirm 156.075 was used by Careflight in Truckee at fire station 92 LZ last Sunday afternoon.

Yeah, 156.075= CALCORD, California Coordination. Truckee is in California. The frequency is listed in Firescope.

I would expected it to be used there
