• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I just purchased an EVX-534 for amateur use and when I download my programming to the radio the software changes my radio ID that I got from the DMR-MARC website (3141027) to 1. In Digital Common I checked Over Write, entered my radio ID, clicked OK and saved the file. Radio ID shows 3141027 greyed out until I download the programming to the radio then it sets it back to 1 again.

Also, I've set the power on tag to my callsign KG7LNX but instead it just shows "ENHANCE" when I turn it on even though the software clearly shows KG7LNX for the power on tag.

I've tried both CE142 export v 1.14 and 1.16 and they both behave the same.

I'm new to DMR. Does anybody have any idea as to what is going on?

Did you try READING from the radio first? When I first received my EVX-539 I read the radio and then saved the codeplug. I don't recall having any issues with the writing the Radio ID.

When you read the radio, you should be able to go up to the "marketing information" and see the specifications for your radio -- it's serial number, etc.

I'm at work so I don't have access to the software at the moment.

Feel free to PM me if you need more help.

PS. The EVX radios are not the best for DMARC. They do work OK but I can expand on that later.

I started from scratch with a new file in the software and put in just a couple of channels and changed the radio ID, downloaded it to the radio then uploaded it back to the software and so far CE142 is keeping the radio ID. I'm backing this file up then continuing on with my programming.

Good deal. The EVX series is a bit weird when it comes to programming. The Vertex lingo is slightly different than Motorola. I pretty much mastered the CE142 app thru trial and error. :)
