how many P25 NAC's?

I was talking to a friend about tone's and different type's,
and I know there is at least 103 DCS code's...
I found out TRBO has like 35,000???
Well, point is; we started thinking about NAC's.
3 slot's, too many to try to count for me.
You start at ---
000
001
002, and so on til you get to 999.
Then you throw in the letters,
and it can get confusing.
00A
00B,,
14T
14U,,,
Thats alot of combination's.
Without getting a migrane,
does anyone know -exactly- how many NAC's there are?

There are 4096 (001-FFF in hexadecimal) but a few have special purposes.

Oldish thread, but by the way to reduce your confusion (since I saw T and U listed above), only the letters A-F are used. It's base-16 hex numbering, A-F take the place of numbers 10-16 to show the 16 binary positions that can be found in a byte, without having to use multiple characters to represent one number.

16 x 16 x 16 (3 digit-bytes per nac number, so 16 cubed) is 4096.
