Border Patrol patches into GATRRS in Del Rio

This was something I'd not heard before this morning. US Border Patrol being patched into the GATRRS / MRGDC trunked system in Del Rio on the Del Rio Police Department and Val Verde Sheriff talk groups doing radio checks on the patches.

Anybody elsewhere hear similar or know more about this? It seems that BP keeps a pretty tight control on their radios especially when local LE is working special operations with them so I can only imagine this will be mainly for emergency use.

Doesn't surprise me, and actually I'm glad to hear they're testing this interoperability out. Keep us updated please.

My brother in law told me that Brooke's county was rumored to be going to gatrrs with the help of border patrol. Might be a sign that they plan on using gatrrs more often than not
