Hey all, obtained some frequency information on the 800 MHz conventional fill ins for San Bernardino county. Wanting to share and see if anyone can verify this or if anyone has heard anything on them. I don't regularly monitor the D-FIRE, D-LAW, or D-GOVT channels, but I might with some of the new ones I came across. It seems that the older radios have it programmed in as D-FIRE-X, D-LAW-X, and D-GOVT-X while the newer radios have it programmed in as FIR-X, LAW-X, and GOV-X. There is also what appears to be a reband series of frequencies that are FIR, LAW, and GOV A through J. I'll put them here with name, Rx Freq. and Rx PL or DPL.

The D-FIRE-1 through D-FIRE-10 (or FIR-1 through FIR-10) in the database all agree with what I obtained, though I have D-FIRE-7 as 857.3625 with a DPL of 131 whereas D-FIRE-8 is the same freq, but using a PL. The rest I'll list completely.

The last 30 channels seam to be rebanded frequencies though I don't think they are in use.

There were a few discrepancies with what was already in the database, for example D-LAW-1 is different in the county radios than it is on there, where it's identified as an unknown.

The last 30 are all new and are in all the county radios now but I don't know that there is any activity on them. Just figured I'd throw them out there so that people can take a listen and see what's going on on them

SB County hasn't rebanded on 800mhz yet. When they do, everything drops exactly 15 mhz. Nothing new here that hasn't happened across the nation. The channels are just in the radio awaiting the magic day. TRS will be transparent to the end users while the conventional site users will have to start using the alphabetic named channels instead of numbered channels.

I'd recommend NOT changing the database yet (and confusing many folks) since all of those channels are quiet. I thought is was RR policy to not list channels based on licensing, rather than actual confirmed use.

That is correct, but nothing's been changed so I don't think that is an issue. However, in this instance, since they came from a radio, that is an exception to the rule.

I know the database has the description wrong for D-Law-6. It is actually patched to 1-BRPD1 while 1-DC-3 is patched to D-Law-3 & 4. Also D-Law-2 is patched to 1-DC-1

Please submit corrections to the DB

I believe it was mentioned a while ago that the current conventional sites are going 7x trunking. Likely, these licenses were applied and programmed for temporary use should the P25 deployment take longer than expected.

The reband conventional frequencies may also be used temporarily for new sites expected to be developed until the backhaul infrastructure is in place for trunking.

Thats my $0.02

D-LAW-2

D-LAW-2 used to be linked to System 10, SBPD-6, inside the Carousel Mall in downtown San Bernardino. This was to allow Officers working inside to communicate with Officers working on the outside.

The above references to specific channels and patching should state "where" they're heard. Listening to DLaw3 or 4 anywhere but Baker and Mountain Pass might result in "not" hearing 1-DC-3. For example, DLaw3 and 4 are re-used at the River and you'd hear 5-DC-1 radio traffic over these two channels if you're in Lk Havasu or the near the Parker/Big River area.

A-J channels

Even though there may not.. or ever will be... repeaters installed, listening to those A through J channels may be interesting once users figure out that they can be used on "direct" or talkaround mode, and have what they think may be private conversations.
