Well yesterday had some time between work and was able to sit around Big Boulder for awhile, wishing was able to get back up on skis again as well but that was memory from the past, my legs now a days couldnt handle that ha..

Big Boulder in Blakeslee, Pa Carbon County was always active VHF radios from 154.5700 for lift operators to 154.5400 and many other active frequencies listed in data base, even 155.2200 was being used for Ski Patrol.

After walking around noticed most employees were carrying UHF radios almost like Walmart style, even plugged all UHF/VHF frequencies under the FCC Data base and only came up with one active.

457.8375 DPL032 Ski Instructors

Question is has anyone been at any facility this year and curious on findings, Jack Frost is still using the Analog repeater frequencies listed but Big Boulder im stumped or just no one talking like previous years?

This has nothing to do with your question and I don't mean to hijack your thread, just help, but the link in your signature does not appear to be active anymore.

I find, when searching for these types of Recreational Facilities to
a. See what the Antenna looks like (You've done that UHF)
b. Check the FCC and the RRDB
c. Go on an On-Site Scancation (park in the parking lot)
d. Put your ATTN on and just search 450-470
You will be surprised at what simplex on the inputs does.
e. Then go back and look them up on the FCC (many will be expired, or in a different name than what I was looking for)

Hope this helps.

Sat in the parking lot for a good hour last night and only came up with the one frequency.. Even checked all the JFBB FCC Licenses and added them into my scan banks. Was playing around the bands as well seeing if missing something but the lot was full and they seemed busy with little talking.
Walking around the lodge those saw with radios none were yapping so go figure.
Have a few other nights planned on sitting for awhile and see what can pick off. Hopefully they didnt go digital..

Could be they are using DMR
http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=1934227 License says no, but that never stopped anyone.

Try the other FCC Licenses listed by running the License Holders FRN 0022168207

Thinking 451.8125 since sitting a few Friday nights when busy the VHF are dead.

Walked around mostly all UHF but cant really tell the models, kinda look like Walmart radio type which would make sense with the MOI license.

JFBB

Looks like Big Bolder and Jack Frost are owned by the same group.
Some licences are listed to “JFBB”, and some to “JFBB ski resorts INC”

They have a stack of licenses, and all are recent. All are listed as
narrow band FM and no other emissions are noted.

You will need to figure out which ones are in use at Big Boulder
and which at Jack Frost.

yup the majority of UHF are used at Jack Frost they are open day time hours normally depending on the holiday and Big Boulder open in the evening. Big Boulder generally utilized all VHF up until last season. have all the FCC data base frequencies in the scanner and the only activity from Big Boulder are ski instructors on 457.8375 otherwise all quiet.

since the Ski Patrol before was using a frequency licensed to the "National Ski Patrol System" was also curious if this might be the same type of deal.

155.2200 was licensed under them previous for Big boulder.
