Traveling to Gatlinburg/Piegon Forge next week. Looking for any local residents who can confirm the best freqs for Public Safety. I will be taking my BCD125AT. I see the NXDN system, will the BCD125 hear the UHF channels if I just program them in as conventional channels and just scan the "old/pre-trunking" way? Thanks in advance.

If you will check the "Sevier County Public Safety" thread in the "stickes" section at the top of this forum, it basically explains all of Sevier County's different systems. (Sorry, I can't link it using Tapatalk.) This should explain what you can hear in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. The NXDN system cannot be monitored with a conventional scanner, whether it's trunked or not. The entire Sevier County system is complicated to say the least.

The NXDN is encrypted so using your computer with any program to monitor it is worthless.
Pigeon Forge Police use P25 on their own trunk system.
Various volunteer fire are clear on the Land Air LTR system
Central Dispatch is in the clear on 460.500
Seymour Fire is clear on 154.310
Catons Chapel/Richardson Cove volunteer fire is clear on 453.5125
Pittman Center fire is clear on 453.7375

That's about it, it is real quiet most of the time anymore.
