Hello all,

I'll be heading back to the beach this summer. Haven't really scanned while in VB since public safety was on the old trunked system. I've been doing a lot of searching on these forums and just want some clarification.

For scanning VBPD, it is my understanding that I only need to program ORION Site 2? Whats the difference between Site 1 and Site 2, other than 700mhz vs 800 mhz?

I also see talkgroups for VBPD 5th Dispatch... Do they have a new 5th precinct or is this a future use talkgroup, or something else perhaps?

And lastly, while in VB last time I listened to resort lifeguards on the VHF frequency. Are the oceanfront lifeguards still using the VHF radios or have they also moved to those ORION talkgroups listed in the FD/EMS section?

Thanks in advance!

Site 2 is correct for all public safety, 5th is not in use set for future expansion,700 system is for interoperability

Nothing in Va Beach

I have programmed a BCD996P2 scanner using Freescan for Orion Site II and the unit does not seem to be picking up anything. Any suggestions?

I'm programing a 1065 for a friend and its not working either. I'm using PRSEdit500 and I don't see an option for Site 1 or 2 listed. I do see a site with 800MHz #'s, another with 700MHz #'s and 1 more with a single 700Mhz #. Which one for VA BCH?
THanks

thanks but I did that one first , then the one with several 700MHz channels, still no joy. My last at bat is the single 700MHz one. After that I'm lost.

Well I can tell you the 800 mhz site is the only one you'll hear VA Beach PD,FD-EMS on. The 2 700 mhz sites are used for the Interop TG's

Want to take a look at the profile and see if I did something wrong?

I used the import from RR option in PSREdit500 when I programmed it. It would seem that any updated CC info would have been done. I'll double check RR but what if RR and the imported CC are the same?

Thanks

OK found these CC's - are these the right ones?
