There has been on-and-off discussion about JFK Medical Center EMS eventually breaking away from MedCentral and dispatching their own units. For several months, they have been talking to both MedCentral of VHF and to their "controller" on an unknown channel. It's definitely DMR / MOTOTRBO.

Does anybody have any knowledge as to what the specifics on this channel are? So far, the only frequencies I've found that are licensed for DMR are under the WQHM938 and WQQI707 licenses, but I've seen next to no activity on them despite knowing that they are definitely using that channel.

JFK Hospital in Edison has a few DMR frequencies in use, and I have also heard some units in the field using the One Voice DMR Trunked System. I'm not sure what the talkgroups are off hand, but I have heard them on there for sure.

I had a feeling that they were using OneVoice; it makes sense given the coverage they have (mainly for SCTU transfers). I'll have to attempt to find out what TG they're using (assuming that's it).

Pretty sure I just caught A621 calling into their controller on TG 300600 off the Belle Mead tower. I'll keep monitoring, but that might be the one. Here's the DSD+ dump:

Yes, that's the talkgroup number I heard them on. I believe I heard Mercy 6 and Mercy 7 on that talkgroup as well.

I recorded about 7 minutes of activity on that TG last night; definitely JFK EMS. I submitted it to the DB.

I added this in just now. Not sure why I couldn't see the submission in my own queue...

Edit - Because OneVoice does not have any confirmed sites in either Middlesex or Union, I had to put the reference to this change in the FD/EMS description section. I was not able to assign OneVoice as a 'related trunk system'.

I don't know if this has anything to do with this discussion but this morning I was in my radio room when REMS was doing their Saturday morning county communications roll call. The last 2 calls were to JFK EMS and NYC EMS. This was the first time I've noticed this during the roll calls.

I was able to get OneVoice assigned to both Middlesex & Union after a fellow admin pointed out what I was missing. I really wish I had more time as I travel for work to help figure out more of the system's unidentified sites...

Hi I work for JFK and yes it is true we have switched over to our own system. This is a internet based system that we use on our uhf radios. I'm not a professional at this stuff I only have some knowledge from being a big scanner enthusiasm person. Is there anyway I can listen to our channels with my HP-1???

I saw the list in RR under middlesex co however I'm having a problem locating it on the scanner and that's after updating my rr data base via sentinel.
Any help would be appreciated thxs

Chris,

It was identified between myself and a few other members that JFK is now on the OneVoice network, which is a Motorola Connect Plus network that uses DMR. This is NOT currently monitored by any scanner on the market but it can be passively monitored by other DMR radios on the market or by using SDR.

If you have any questions, feel free to DM me.
