Edgefield PD or Fairfield County Fire?

Does anyone know exactly what 155.83500 is in Edgefield County vicinity? It's in the database as Edgefield PD but all the calls I've ever heard have been fire calls and radio tests for fire stations (about 27 stations I think). This morning I heard a call go out for an accident in Fairfield County near the Richland County line and everyone kept referring to the channel as Fire 1.

I think it was the old Edgefield County fire dispatch frequency. They have since gone to 154.415.

It actually was the frequency the city used back when they dispatched their own calls. When they started allowing the county to dispatch all their calls the PD went to the county freq and the fire depts went to the freq that all the county fire depts now use. The old frequency may still be used by public works.
