Hotel at LAX for one week - what area public safety for my scanner ?

If you were going to be in a LAX area hotel for one week, and had your scanner with you, how would you program it ?

Any others ? LA Sheriff ? Which Fire Freq ?

470.5375 (Blue 8) and 470.6125 (Blue 3) - LA County Fire Dept, covers Inglewood, Lennox, Hawthorne, and a couple cities around there. Blue 8 for the voice dispatches, Blue 3 for responses and sizeups.

Also check out South Bay Regional Communications. El Segundo is next door, listen to their PD, and their fire dept is dispatched by South Bay Fire.

For LA City Fire, listen to Channel 4 and Channel 7. 4 is the EMS dispatch, 7 is the fire dispatch.

Add both West Bureau Tac channels, and the Division fallback (called "simplex" on the air).

LAPD Beat cars for the airport area are 14A67 and 14A73

LAFD Stations in the airport are 51 and 80, with 5 and 95 serving the surrounding area.

L.A City Fire Stations ... 51... 95... 5...67 ... crash units are in and around LAX, and are always very busy.

Here at LAX area hotel now, the following freqs provide plenty to listen to

484.3875 : Very active ***
483.4375: Active, not as much as above, actually kinda "slow" given that it is a LASO freq
470.5375: Not as interesting as I expected

Update almost a year since original post.

The following freqs are most active, using stock antenna on my PRO-96 in my hotel room

For simplistic terms, consider them as "LAX area". I plugged them all in to capture any major incidents that may occur in the area, while I work from my hotel room on a business trip (can't stand hotel TV). I have been back to the area about every three months.

859.4375 - LA Fire, great signal

483.4375 - LASO, pretty good signal, fairly active

484.3875 - LAPD, signal decent, very active

470.3875 - Hawthorne PD, great signal

471.3375 - El Segundo PD, great signal

506.0125 - South Bay Comm/Fire for Hawthorne and El Segundo, decent signal

460.150 - Inglewood PD (not very active)

470.3875 - LA County Fire (not much "action" here)
