I'm curious to know how many counties in Ohio currently do not use the MARCS radio system for their Fire and EMS services / law enforcement. I know some counties use MARCS for law enforcement but do not yet have funding for fire and ems to be on the system.

I know of the following:

Darke
Preble
Shelby
Logan

Please name any others that you are aware of...

Fairfield - Using a DMR for SO - no idea on what else in the county.
Fairfield is predominantly UHF.

It would probably be easier to go to the MARCS pages and scroll down through the county lists and see who is using MARCS and who isn't.

I count about 53 counties with regular talk groups on the new system with several due to come online, namely Pickaway. Montgomery, and Hamilton.

Doing it the hard way

I think you'd be better off creating a list of the counties that have All Public Safety Forces on MARCS. I'd be willing to bet that it's a really short list.

Those counties not on the list are what you are looking for.

Jefferson and Belmont are not. They are on MARCS IP. Two different animals

That's what I get for assuming. I saw the MARCS IP towers listed and thought they moved. All I ever hear is the prison for Belmont

You were right that they have marcs ip but county fire and police are on a separate system. The only thing that is on marcs down there is the prison odot and sometimes Harrison co. Guernsey co. Monroe co. Ans oshp when they get on it

Scioto County Sheriff is not on MARCS, however, Portsmouth City and New Boston PD are.
