Collinsville PD To Start testing Starcom

One of the last remaining analog systems in Madison County.
Collinsville PD received Motorola portables and talk group for testing the system.

From what I hear there closer to a switch to but have not finalized a deal yet.

Also St Clair County is taking delivery of all new radios from Motorola.
This is county personal and equipment only, unless other municipalities want
To buck up for the new radios themselves.
The old radios will be made available to any city or dept. that wants to by them
At a substantial savings.

I'm surprised it has taken this long, Collinsvile Fire Dept has been on Starcom for years. That and the coverage of their current repeater is dismal compared to what I remember it being prior to narrow banding.

Tg33 rid 21232 20106

Motorola TG 33 was active last night with some odd users, kind of sounded like Ameren, but were St Clair County type IDs of 21232 ("32)" and 20106 which may hav been "DC4". The one unit thanked the other for "making the trip", basically was not able to do anything when they got there.

Pretty sure I was told Motorola Testing TG 14
Will find out for sure.
I know they use tg1 -100

You heard this on Madison county CC, or St. Clair?

Been trying to listen but haven't heard anything.

FYI... TG 33 is Ameren on the Ameren Missouri system.

My new scanner is picking up a northern IL SC21 control channel that is used in the st louis area on the Ameren sites.

I have not heard any Motorola test groups.
